You will find a collection of my photographs and poetry from the past two to three years,
and I will continue adding new poems and photographs on a regular basis.
I hope that you find something to your liking.
Check back in regularly for updates in the New Poetry and New Photographs sections.
Thank you for visiting the site, and if you have any questions or comments, please feel free to contact me.
Today I took a trip to Glen Feshie in the Trossachs. It was surprisingly warm for the time of year.
The walk started off with a climb up the hill, with magnificent views of the glen. I took photographs of the old forest where the sunlight burst through the trees.
We emerged into a glen containing a loch, surrounded by snow capped mountains.
You can see several more of the photographs from the walk in the New Photographs and other sections of the site.
I've not been on many photography trips yet this year, the weather has been cold but not very wintery.
I took advantage of the early sunsets to take some photographs, featured in the New Photographs section of the website.
I'm hoping to get into the countryside more often in February, and hopefully climb some mountains this year.
I am conscious that it has been quite some time since I updated this blog, and I have a lot to update you with.
I have been restricted in my usual photography trips due to covid travel restrictions over the last year, but I am beginning to get more opportunities to visit the wild places that inspire me again.
The big news is that I have published my first volume of poetry 'Vision of a Clear Day' which includes 371 pages of poems from the past 4 years, most of which are not on this website. It costs £7.99 for the paperback and £1.99 for the Kindle eBook, available from Amazon. Profits from the book go to mental health charities.
will update this website with some exclusive new poems in the next few days.
To celebrate my 50th birthday my family sent me to the Big Cat Sanctuary in Kent, on a photographic safari.
It was quite an experience, as you can see we were up close to the animals, with the lenses of our cameras right up to the fence.
At the beginning of the tour we were given a safety talk and I was impressed by the wildness of the cats... just being close to them brought a healthy respect for nature.
I thoroughly enjoyed the day, and would encourage anyone interested in visiting the sanctuary to contact them and book to go (visits must be prearranged in advance). Their website is https://thebigcatsanctuary.org
I have included a selection of my photographs in the Nature/Wildlife section.
To mark the release of my new poetry book "Imperfect Lights" I have uploaded a new selection of poems to the website.
These poems were written as I was going through Advanced Yoga Teacher Training, and are a little more existential in nature.
Imperfect Lights is available from Amazon for £8.05 Hardcover and £3.05 paperback.
I made the decision some time ago to take down my books from Amazon. I hadn't made enough effort to promote them, and decided to go through the editing process again and I will publish again some time in the future.
I am continuing my poetry journey on this website by sharing with you some more of my recent work. I am aiming to publish at least one poem a day, and to dedicate more time into the new work.
The new poems will appear at the top of the lists, the older poems will be kept online for new readers.
I hope you enjoy the new poems, and keep an eye on the blog, I'll endeavour to update it regularly.
